A wonderful place to begin your hunt for scrapbooking supplies would be specialty scrapbooking stores or hobby shops.

At stores that are dedicated completely to scrapbooking, many times they offer free classes or seminars that offer you the opportunity to meet with and network with other scrap bookers.

For information on these types of shops and where you can buy these types of supplies, check your local phonebook or do a search online for stores close to you.

Craft stores, such as Michaels’ and Hobby Lobby also carry many scrapbooking supplies and other items that you might find of interest.

One of the best resources that I know of is online.

The Internet is so useful in helping you find the items that you need because it possesses the largest collection of specialty stores and shops out there.

Many times, if you live in a small or rural area, this type of shopping will prove most helpful to you.

You might also want to check out your local organization of scrap bookers or if there are any locally celebrated scrapbooking conventions nearby.

Scrapbooking conventions are large gatherings where scrap bookers gather to shop, take classes, and meet with other scrap bookers.

It’s a great way to meet with and get tips and advice from some of the more experienced scrap bookers.

When purchasing your supplies, just keep in mind that scrapbooks are most appealing if they are full of an interesting diversity of personal touches.

Overdoing any embellishment or relying too heavily on ‘pre-assembled decorations or layouts’ can make your book seem impersonal.

The more creative that you are in finding and implementing new designs and accessories into your scrapbook, the more that personal flair will spark through when you are finished.
